McKenna Henrich is the Iowa State Fair Queen

It is with much excitement that Plymouth County celebrates the crowing of McKenna Henrich as the 2021 Iowa State Fair Queen.

Henrich is the 18-year-old daughter of Brian and Michelle Henrich. She hails from Akron, Iowa, located in western Plymouth County.

She received the honor after competing against other contestants from across the state during the 2021 Iowa State Fair, held in Des Moines.

On a warm August evening, filled with the sounds, sights and smells of one of the largest state fairs in the country, she waived to an enthusiastic crowd surrounding the Anne and Bill Riley Stage.

She was ushered on stage by the FFA State officers, and by the end of the program, she was surrounded with hugs and well-wishers.

Henrich will spend the remainder of 2021 and a portion of 2022 traveling the state promoting the Iowa State Fair.
