Grandstand: Go-Kart races will be making their debut at the Plymouth County Fair on Thursday. Hot laps start at 6:00 pm and races at 7:00 pm Check it out!
Family Plaza: The highly popular Kids’ Zone, with free inflatables and a kids’ play tent have some new visitors this year — the Pompeyo Dog Show and Agri-Golf and mini-golf tournaments. Throw in some special guests throughout the fair, shaded seating, nearby restrooms, and even more entertainment provided by B&R Chainsaw Sculptures, and you will want to take up residence in the newly expanded Family Plaza.
Pioneer Village: the always popular musical entertainment lineup features new artists this year, like Eli Alger & the Faster Horses and Andy Griggs. Pick out your favorite bench and enjoy!
Seating: the grand concourse and water fountain rest area are now equipped with new seating, which are available to personalize with a plaque. Anyone interested should contact Candice or email plymouthcountyfair@gmail.com
Educational Opportunities: the Interactive Mobile Ag Lab will be on site Wednesday in the south end of the open class building; Friday will have a noon historical walking tour of the Pioneer Village — grab lunch on the grounds and learn more about the Village, and Saturday will feature, The History of the Plymouth County Fair: How it Shaped Our Summers — 8:00 pm, Century Hall. On Saturday, near the clock tower, you will want to visit one of the coolest vehicles you have ever seen. Farm Bureau is bringing safety education to you -- through the Simulation in Motion-Iowa (SIM-IA) truck. This is one impressive rig! SIM-IA is a unique program designed to provide simulated clinical learning opportunities in local communities across Iowa, and we are fortunate that the Plymouth County Fair is on list. See state-of-the-art equipment, meet highly-trained staff and learn how safety is no accident.
Food Stand: Welcome to the newest food stand — LifeWise. You can find them in the grandstand every morning with iced coffee, scones, and muffins. Glad to bring them to the Fair Food lineup.
