Nine Quilts will be Given to Veterans This Year

A Quilt of Valor® is a program that provides a quality, handmade quilt to service members or veterans who have been touched by war.

Locally the program exists thanks to the generosity of Ginny Freyermuth and her granddaughters, as well as Phyllis Woll and Geri Dreckman.

Each quilt says: “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”

Plymouth County is thankful for these kind ladies and the veterans they honor. Thank you!

Each year the Plymouth County Fair Board -- infant of a packed Pioneer Village -- recognizes someone who has gone above and beyond to make the fair a better place.

Lizzy was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and grew up in a family of entertainers.

As a child, she spent much of her summer learning about and watching stage hypnosis shows across the country. She was always intrigued by the power and hilarity of hypnosis. Lizzy chose to continue the family tradition in entertainment and pursue a career as a stage hypnotist.

She has used her knowledge and expertise to create a hypnosis show that is unique, funky and fresh. She believes that the more we can smile and laugh together, the better our lives will be, because laughter is one of the best kinds of therapy. There is sure to be lots of laughter during her show!

Luke Mills

Luke Mills is a singer/songwriter, performer, and recording artist from Holdrege Nebraska, who was inducted into the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame.

Luke has been writing and performing music professionally since 1999 and has seen regional and national radio success with multiple songs over the last 20 years. He has toured across the United States and has become a staple in the independent artist scene with his unique and professional performances and songwriting.

While performing some of the biggest festivals in the country, Mills has shared the stage with a number of A List acts including Grammy Award Winners such as DAN+SHAY, Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Chris Janson, Ashley McBryde, Chase Rice, Phil Vassar, Doug Stone, and many more. Some of Luke’s biggest influences have been Chris LeDoux, George Srait, Keith Urban, Collective Soul and Def Leppard.

In 2017 Luke was nominated for Album Of The Year for his independent release of his record titled Reboot at the iHeart Radio Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards in Fort Collins, CO where he performed one of his strongest radio singles “Heartbeat.”

The Browns have been touring across the United States since the group began 20-some years ago. The heralded group began on the local and state level and has expanded and grown into a national and international touring group.

Rockland Road is six musicians who share the last name: Martin. They are vocalists, who among them play 23 different instruments. It is a powerhouse group featuring soulful vocals.


Paul and Jamie Martin began singing together in 2010 with their four children: March, Kell, Texas and Tallant. Quickly realizing the kids all showed an uncanny knack for hearing harmonies, as well as for playing instruments, they began performing shows together.


Grammy-winning artist Paul Martin, lead singer/guitarist of country-pop supergroup Exile, met and married Jamie Allen, daughter of Duane Allen, a member of Country Music Hall of Fame gospel group The Oak Ridge Boys, and Grand Ole Opry background singer Norah Lee Allen. Individually and collectively, Paul and Jamie’s four children were exposed early to a rich musical
heritage which they cultivated into a unique musical experience.
